For nearly 125 years, Mary, Our Mother, has created in our parish a place where we encounter Christ. Now, she is preparing a new space of grace on our campus. It is with great joy that I announce a new Marian grotto coming to our parish campus in Fall 2026.
A grotto is a small space resembling a cave or rock sanctuary. Many of you may have seen the grotto in Lourdes, France which has inspired similar places of prayer throughout the world. A grotto is meant to be a quiet, intimate space that is also easily accessible—a place where people can come and go freely for prayer. Our grotto will be located on the lawn between the rectory and the parish offices.
Children will love it, and families will be able to stop there together to pray to Mary. All will be welcome to come and light a candle. It will be a place where anyone can spend a quiet moment in the presence of Our Lady—a place of peace and prayer for all who visit, now and for generations to come.
One part of the grotto will also include a memorial wall to commemorate our beloved ones who have passed away.
